as for AV, well its been broken for a long time. personally to get balance we need a couple of thigns. firstly. more shield based AV. when 4 of the 5 AV weapons are armour based you can't truly have balance and the 1 shield based weapon does pretty laughable damage for th eamount of SP needed to hit that damage. secondly, modules should all go back to being active. tankers had to plan their movements and engagements just as us industry did. do you hit all 3 reppers and hardeners and go in for a hard hitting quick skirmish, or did you stagger them for prolonged engagements, now a rep/hardener maddy just sits there hammering infantry with its hardeners while havign a little laugh at the AV bouincing off its hull and then hitting a nitro to get away. perhaps have hardeners act similar to siege modules on dreads in EVE where they restrict your movements while active? that way a tanker has to prepare for hardener to completely shuit down before hitting nitro and running hell yeh, that would be it right there!!! Siege mode them mofos.. you like having near impenetrable defenses... cool, have fun having that while not being able to flee... the tears would drown us all quickly though, I don't think the dust tank community can handle that haha even though dread pilots do it every damn day in Eve.... so I guess if it were to happen, it would just be one of those HTFU and adapt things
I'd love to have siege mode...particularly for when Marauders come back as their hat. Armor Hardeners in general got over-corrected on, and shield hardeners are pretty bad right now (shield are just bad on vehicles right now...they got unnecessary nerfs to them).
Vehicle skill tree needs some love...as it stands, Vehicle Operation has been changed from a low SP Barrier of entry, to an extremely high SP barrier of entry...another over-correction. Additionally, shield HAVs need more fitting (Armor need some too, but not nearly to the degree of shields) and some low slot modules to have an opportunity cost associated with fitting modules (As is supposed to be the case). HAVs shouldn't require absolutely everything to 5 to be functional...but shouldn't require no SP to work either (we need to find a happy medium in there).
and AV weapons need some love too, but that's more of an examination of how vehicles/av interact and how things should die (How regeneration/repair works and how weapon systems need to be designed to counter it). As is, with armor being on a constant regeneration model, you either need alpha-strike (Enough to overwhelm the HP) which in my opinion isn't fun, or sustained DPS, which in my opinion isn't fair (To the infantry AVers)...additionally, because armor functions in this way, shields end up with the short end of the stick once again, with no ability to fit enough buffer to survive alpha...and without regeneration to survive sustain. (I get that the Gunnlogi is a nimble bastard...but Caldari are Siege Warfare Specialists, shield skirmishing is more of Minmatar's shtick)
One thing to remember with vehicles right now is that we have heavy vehicles in the HAV, then light vehicles in the LAV and Derpships...there needs to be AV weapons that specialize in killing one or the other, then general purpose AV weapons that are pretty ok at killing both...
and as many of us who helped theory-craft spreadsheets for the initiative saw, Swarm Launchers are in a very, very difficult spot right now...any small change and they could easily cascade into the realm of completely overpowered, or completely useless...barring a mechanics overhaul for them (or at least, changing the missiles to where different launchers can have different stats like speed and acceleration) I wouldn't want to change them at all one way or another...lest they become a useless shelf-piece to talk about how they where once great.
Khanid Logi and Tanker, sometimes AV Heavy or Sniper.
